Escalate hits the studio, new EP set for early 2026
Escalate finished recording their new 12” EP "The Cry Of Nature", recorded by their own András Timár at their rehearsal room, mixed by Taylor Young and mastered by Brad Boatright.
“Every time we finish recording an album, I get anxious about what comes next and whether we can push ourselves further. To calm that feeling, I usually jump straight into writing again, so by the time Consequences was done, the first sketches for this new EP were already taking shape.
Lyrically, this record dives deeper into themes of animal liberation and anti-civ thought, pulling from some of the earliest writings on those ideas. Musically, The Cry of Nature hits harder and feels more direct than Consequences. We experimented a lot on that LP, learned from the process, and this EP is where all of that comes together.” László Mészáros
“I had a blast recording this EP, I feel like we managed to capture our live sound a lot more faithfully than before. Recording ourselves allowed us to focus on our unique character while trying to make this EP sound as heavy as possible. Blasting guitar amps and mixing them up and all that! Taylor Young's mixing really worked in our favor as well, it brings the required aggression without sacrificing our core sound.” András Timár
“When we started working on the new album, we wanted to step away a bit from the world of "Consequences", both in songwriting and in sound. We aimed for songs that were wilder, more aggressive, and faster, and we went for a much rawer, dirtier production. I do like how Consequences sound, but compared to how Escalate hits live, it ended up feeling a bit too clean and too ‘hi-fi’. This time, we just wanted to capture what actually happens at our shows: the raw energy, the chaos, and the tension, without any polishing.” András Börzsönyi
“Recording and putting this album together was super exciting for all of us. It was the first time we handled every single recording on our own. On the previous releases we worked with an outside sound engineer, but this time András took care of all the pre-production and the final recordings. That gave us a lot more freedom and plenty of time to shape things the way we wanted, so we could get really close to the sound we imagined for this EP.
We moved away from the cleaner sound of the last record and went back a bit to our earlier, rawer vibe, but with a heavier, deeper feel that still pushes things forward. This might be the release that best captures the energy we try to bring on stage, and it probably makes the message of The Cry of Nature EP hit even harder.
Working together in the studio was a blast, trying out new ideas, experimenting, and then hearing how they ended up in the final tracks.” Ákos Nagy
“Since day one, we've followed one rule: never repeat ourselves! We always try to push our limits further and further to keep the energy up. With this EP, we wanted to do something different, but we also wanted to keep the essence that has shaped our sound and style through the years. The writing process and the entire recording session were more spontaneous and instinctive for me, and thanks to this, the EP is the rawest and most aggressive material we’ve ever produced.” Ádám Horváth
